The company has the ability to support the whole of the maritime industry, with more directly-employed marine electronics engineers than any other company and a network of regional offices around the country, and service representation around the globe thanks to our international network of partners and in group resources. The regional offices act as a first line of contact for customers, offer local expert knowledge – as well as engineering support – and are strategically based in, or near to, local ports and harbours.

Luca De Cesare
Luca was appointed as the Director of SIRM UK in 2016 following the transition of the business from Selex ES. Luca has a strong background in Management Consultancy and the technology, with previous experience in the IT and Telecommunications sector working for Accenture and Telecom Italia. Prior to taking his position in SIRM UK, Luca gained 2 years’ experience as CEO in the Marine Electronics Sector in Italy. Luca is a married father of a daughter, and keen on sailing and anything about the sea.

Scott started his career in maritime in 2003 when he joined Marconi Selenia as an Electronics Engineer. Scott spent several years ‘on the tools’ as an Engineer and MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) Surveyor, before transferring to Management in 2009 as UK Service Manager for Selex Communications. In 2015 Scott become the Head of the UK business, and more recently was also elected to become Vice President of the International Ships Engineering Services Association. Scott is a married father of two boys, and keen on outdoor activities.
Head of Service
Charlie has over 30 years’ experience in the maritime service and support industry. He has been recognised by several independent maritime reports for developing high performance, customer focussed, service and support teams. Initially working for many years as a Field Engineer, his career has encompassed a variety of technical and leadership roles, within market leading manufacturers and maritime service companies.
Head of Engineering
Terry joined the business in 2003 after a long career in technical design and development with the Marconi Company. Terry is responsible for the management of the system engineering resources, the design and integrity of proposed systems and our support activities. Terry is also responsible for the introduction of new technologies to grow the business in all areas.
Nigel has over 30 years with the business stretching back to the days of Marconi Marine. Nigel’s background is in Airtime but he has undertaken many roles in the business and now looks after the Operations Function (including cash matters, procurement, logistics and central administration) as well as continuing to have overall responsibility for the Airtime segment. Nigel is a keen traveller and sportsman (being a qualified football referee)
Greg joined the business in 2001 and has worked with a wide range of global shipping companies and supply partners. He is responsible for helping customers to find innovative, cost effective electronics solutions to reduce operational spend, generate revenue and meet regulatory requirements.
John has over 20 years in the marine industry which started as professional Yacht Captain. Since coming ashore, his skills in Navigation and Communications has led him to work for some of the market leading companies in this field. John joined SIRM in 2019 and has brought his knowledge into SIRM’s integrated solutions portfolio. A natural communicator and strong problem solver, John looks forward to consulting with both new and existing customers.
Yvonne has over 20 years’ experience in the marine electronics industry, initially joining Simrad as an administrator, she quickly developed her role and became Fishery sales manager for Scotland. Yvonne Transitioned to Echomaster Marine when they were awarded the Simrad distributorship for the UK, and then joined SIRM in 2012 to manage our Scottish and Irish regions. Given her years of experience and knowledge, Yvonne specialises on supporting our fishing customers. Alongside her work Yvonne, loves to keep active, going to the gym, walking, cycling and running, and also has a number of marathons under her belt.
Martin started his career in the marine industry in 1995 in Radio Holland South Africa. He began in the stores but soon progressed into Sales becoming Commercial Manager for the African territory. Martin’s development is driven by his determination to learn, which led him to gain his qualifications in electronics while working for Radio Holland. Martin moved to the UK in September 2018 joining SIRM UK as Regional Manager for Northern England. Martin’s years of experience and variety of roles have given him a unique perceptive and knowledge of marine electronics systems and regulations.
Ryan van der Linde
Ryan had amassed 20 years’ experience within the marine business sector since 2001, working across all marine sectors – Leisure, Fishing, commercial and Deep Sea. Ryan joined SIRM UK Marine Ltd in May 2018 as Regional Manager. Ryan’s journey so far in the marine electronics sales and service industry, has brought him to believe that no matter how hard life seems... always try to make a success of whatever project you are working on. Ryan’s motto - Remember that your actions will always follow your beliefs!
