our history
SIRM’s rich history stems from the very inception of radio and its inventor, Guglielmo Marconi. In 1900, Marconi founded The Marconi International Marine Communications Company and in 1927 formed SIRM (Società Italiana Radio Marittima). The companies later merged, in 2016, following an acquisition of the UK business from SELEX ES Ltd.
Since the early days when radio systems were first developed, SIRM UK has evolved to offer a full range of maritime solutions including communications, navigation, safety, airtime and full-service support.
